elbow bend

Joint's flexion point

An elbow bend is a pipe fitting that creates an angle, typically 90 degrees, allowing pipes to change direction.

The term comes from the resemblance to a bent elbow.

Also called simply an elbow or an ell in plumbing: We need a copper elbow bend to route the pipe around the beam.
