easings
Gradual pressure reductions
Easings are gradual transitions or reductions, most commonly encountered in animation and user interface design.
An easing determines how movement accelerates or decelerates—whether an object slides to a stop smoothly or bounces at the end.
The designer tested several easings before settling on one that felt natural.
Outside technical contexts, easings can refer to any gentle lessening: easings of tension, easings of restrictions.
