Dual sport describes motorcycles designed to handle both paved roads and off-road terrain, street-legal but capable on dirt trails: I bought a dual sport so I could commute to work and hit the trails on weekends.
The term extends to the riding style itself.
Dual sport bikes typically have longer suspension travel and knobby tires compared to pure street motorcycles.
