dry zone
Rainless geographic area
A dry zone is an area where alcohol sales are prohibited or restricted, often at events, in public spaces, or across entire municipalities.
The term also applies geographically to regions receiving little rainfall—the arid belt between tropical and temperate climates.
At parties or venues, a dry zone might be a designated alcohol-free section: The kids' area is a dry zone.
