dry wall

Interior wall material

Drywall is a building material made of gypsum plaster pressed between thick sheets of paper, used to construct interior walls and ceilings.

It largely replaced traditional plaster-and-lath construction in the mid-twentieth century because it's faster to install.

Also called wallboard, plasterboard, or by the brand name Sheetrock.

As a verb, to drywall is to install such panels: We drywalled the basement over the weekend.
