dry flies
Floating fishing lures
Dry flies are artificial fishing lures designed to float on the water's surface, imitating insects that have landed there.
Unlike wet flies or nymphs, which sink below the surface, dry flies stay buoyant through lightweight materials and water-resistant coatings.
The technique requires casting so the fly lands delicately, mimicking natural prey: He tied on a dry fly and watched a trout rise to take it.
