downfaulted
Tectonically displaced downward
Downfaulted describes rock or land that has dropped down along a geological fault relative to adjacent blocks.
The term appears in geology when discussing how sections of the earth's crust shift vertically: The valley floor is a downfaulted block between two mountain ranges.
A downfaulted basin or graben forms when surrounding terrain remains higher.
