double date
Two couples out
A double date is a social outing where two couples go out together, typically for dinner, a movie, or similar activities.
The arrangement can ease awkwardness for new couples or strengthen friendships between established ones: We're going on a double date with my sister and her boyfriend.
As a verb, to double date is to participate in such an outing.
