Two-layer glass setup
Double-pane describes windows made with two sheets of glass separated by a sealed air space, providing better insulation than single-pane windows: We replaced all the old windows with double-pane.
The trapped air reduces heat transfer and outside noise.
Also called double-glazed, especially in British English.
