domestic travel
Trips within borders
Domestic travel is travel within one's own country, as opposed to international travel.
The term appears most often in contexts involving airlines, tourism policy, and travel restrictions: Domestic travel recovered faster than international flights after the pandemic.
What counts as domestic depends on your citizenship or residence—a flight from New York to Los Angeles is domestic for Americans but international for a French tourist.
