dogfighters
Pilots in combat
Dogfighters are people who engage in dogfighting—either the illegal blood sport of setting dogs against each other in combat, or aerial combat between military aircraft.
The first sense carries strong criminal connotations: Police arrested several dogfighters in the raid.
The second is military: World War I dogfighters became legendary aces.
