Challenged credit transaction
A disputed charge is a transaction on a credit card or bank statement that the account holder contests, claiming it was unauthorized, incorrect, or for goods never received.
Filing a dispute triggers an investigation by the card issuer: I filed a disputed charge after seeing a purchase I didn't make.
The process is sometimes called a chargeback.
