diseasing

Making someone sick

Diseasing is the present participle of disease used as a verb, meaning to infect or afflict with illness.

The verb form is rare and somewhat archaic, appearing mostly in older texts or deliberately formal contexts: Poverty and filth were diseasing the population.

More common today is the adjective diseased, describing something afflicted by disease.
