discipling
Guiding spiritual growth
Discipling is the process of mentoring someone in religious faith, particularly in Christianity.
A more experienced believer guides a newer one toward spiritual maturity through teaching, modeling, and relationship: She's been discipling a group of college students.
The term is common in evangelical contexts, where one-on-one or small-group discipling is emphasized as distinct from general church attendance.
