digital memory
Data retention system
Digital memory is the capacity of electronic devices to store and retrieve information—the hard drives, flash storage, and cloud servers that hold our files, photos, and data.
The term also describes human memories that exist primarily in digital form: All my photos from that trip exist only in digital memory.
Unlike biological memory, digital memory doesn't fade with time, though it depends on functioning hardware and compatible software to remain accessible.
