descriptive adjectives
Words depicting qualities
Descriptive adjectives are adjectives that describe qualities or characteristics of a noun—color, size, shape, texture, temperament: a red apple, a tall building, a rough surface, an anxious dog.
The term distinguishes these from other adjective types like demonstrative (this, that), possessive (my, their), or quantifying (some, many).
Most adjectives people think of are descriptive.
