The morally condemned
Deplorables refers to supporters of Donald Trump, reclaimed from Hillary Clinton's 2016 description of "half of Trump's supporters" as a "basket of deplorables." What was meant as condemnation became a badge of honor among those it targeted: I'm a proud deplorable.
The term remains politically charged, used sincerely by Trump supporters and mockingly by opponents.
