deconditioned
Out of shape
Deconditioned describes a body that has lost physical fitness, strength, or endurance through inactivity or illness.
The term appears most often in medical and rehabilitation contexts: After six weeks in bed, the patient was severely deconditioned.
Athletes returning from injury must rebuild what deconditioning has taken away.
