deadpan comic
Straight-faced humorist
A deadpan comic delivers jokes and humorous material with a deliberately expressionless face and flat tone, creating contrast between absurd content and impassive delivery.
The style relies on the audience recognizing that the performer's blank affect is itself part of the joke: Buster Keaton was the original deadpan comic.
