day lily
Orange roadside perennial
Day lily is a flowering plant with trumpet-shaped blooms that each last only a single day, though the plant produces many buds in succession.
The flowers typically open in the morning and wilt by evening.
Day lilies are hardy garden perennials, tolerant of neglect and poor soil: The day lilies along the fence bloom all summer.
Despite the name, they're not true lilies.
