custard sauce
Pourable egg cream
Custard sauce is a pourable dessert sauce made from eggs, sugar, milk or cream, and often vanilla.
It's the British term for what Americans typically call crème anglaise.
Thinner than the custard used for filling pies, it's meant to be spooned or poured over puddings, cakes, and fruit desserts: Christmas pudding with warm custard sauce.
