crocking
Color rubs off
Crocking is the transfer of dye from fabric to skin or other surfaces through rubbing.
Dark denim is notorious for crocking—leaving blue stains on hands, furniture, or lighter clothing: These new jeans are crocking all over my white sneakers.
The term comes from textile manufacturing, where fabrics are tested for colorfastness.
