court findings
Judicial case outcomes
Court findings are the formal determinations a judge makes about facts or law in a case.
Unlike a verdict, which is typically delivered by a jury, findings come from the bench—the judge's conclusions about what happened and how the law applies: The court's findings supported the plaintiff's claim.
Findings of fact establish what occurred; findings of law interpret legal standards.
In written opinions, judges set out their findings to explain and justify the ruling.
