corporate counsel
In-house legal advisor
Corporate counsel is an attorney employed by a company to handle its legal matters internally.
Unlike outside lawyers hired for specific cases, corporate counsel works as a permanent staff member, advising on contracts, compliance, employment issues, and litigation risk.
Also called in-house counsel or general counsel, though general counsel typically designates the head of a legal department.
