convolve
Twist into one
To convolve is to roll or twist together, to coil or wind around something.
In mathematics and signal processing, convolve has a technical meaning: to combine two functions by integration to produce a third function that expresses how the shape of one is modified by the other.

The adjective convoluted—meaning intricately folded or overly complex—is more common than the verb.
