Informal group talks
Confabs are informal conversations or chats, often friendly and somewhat conspiratorial: The two of them had regular confabs over coffee.
The word is a shortened form of confabulation, though it lacks that word's clinical sense of fabricated memories.
As a verb, to confab is to have such a chat: They confabbed in the corner for twenty minutes.
