compression chamber
Sealed pressurizing enclosure
A compression chamber is an enclosed space where gas or air is compressed to increase pressure.
In engines, the compression chamber (or combustion chamber) is where fuel and air are compressed before ignition.
In diving, a compression chamber subjects divers to increased atmospheric pressure, either for deep-dive simulation or to treat decompression sickness by gradually returning the body to normal pressure.
