comedy revue
Humorous variety performance
A comedy revue is a theatrical entertainment consisting of sketches, songs, and other short performances loosely connected by a theme rather than a continuous narrative.
Unlike a musical or play, the segments stand alone: The troupe's comedy revue lampooned local politicians.
The format suits topical humor and ensemble casts, with acts that can be swapped or updated.
