come to someone's rescue
Help when needed
To come to someone's rescue is to help them when they're in trouble or difficulty.
The phrase works literally—Lifeguards came to the swimmer's rescue—but more often describes any timely intervention: My sister came to my rescue when I couldn't make rent.
The someone can be replaced with a possessive: come to her rescue, come to the company's rescue.
