color portraits
Tinted facial depictions
Color portraits are photographs or paintings of people rendered in full color rather than black and white or monochrome.
The term distinguishes work from an era when color photography was expensive or technically difficult: The studio offered both black-and-white and color portraits.
Now that color is standard, the phrase appears mainly in historical contexts or when contrasting with artistic black-and-white work.
