coconspirator
Partner in crime
A coconspirator is someone who conspires alongside another—a partner in a plot or scheme.
The term appears most often in legal contexts, where prosecutors charge defendants and their coconspirators with jointly planning crimes: Her coconspirator testified against her in exchange for a lighter sentence.
Outside courtrooms, it can describe any collaborator in mischief or secret plans.
