cochairman
Joint committee head
A cochairman is one of two people sharing the duties of a chairman, presiding jointly over a committee, board, or organization.
The arrangement typically divides responsibilities or represents different factions: The commission appointed cochairmen from both parties.
Also spelled co-chairman.
The gender-neutral cochair is increasingly preferred.
