co-codamol
Codeine plus paracetamol
Co-codamol is a painkiller combining codeine and paracetamol (acetaminophen), used to treat moderate pain that doesn't respond to paracetamol alone.
Available over the counter in lower doses and by prescription in stronger forms, it's common in the UK: The doctor prescribed co-codamol for my back pain.
The codeine component carries risk of dependence.
