closing quote
Final speech marker
A closing quote is a quotation mark that ends a quoted passage, paired with an opening quote at the beginning.
In American English, closing quotes are typically double marks placed after the final punctuation: "She said, 'I'm leaving.'" In stock markets, the closing quote is a security's final price when trading ends for the day.
