close-range
Almost point-blank
Close-range describes something happening at a short distance, typically within a few feet or meters.
The term appears most often in contexts involving weapons or shooting: a close-range gunshot wound, fired at close-range.
It also applies to photography, observation, or any activity where proximity matters: close-range surveillance, a close-range look at the damage.
The hyphen is standard when used as an adjective before a noun.
