clinical deaths

Reversible cardiac arrests

Clinical deaths is the plural of clinical death, the state when heartbeat and breathing have stopped but brain function may not yet be irreversibly lost.

This is the death that can sometimes be reversed—patients who "died on the table" and were resuscitated experienced clinical death.

It contrasts with biological death, when cellular breakdown makes revival impossible.
