cliff swallow
Eave-building bird
A cliff swallow is a North American bird that builds distinctive gourd-shaped mud nests on cliff faces, under bridges, and beneath the eaves of buildings.
These colonial nesters often return to the same sites year after year—the famous swallows of San Juan Capistrano are cliff swallows.
