click farm

Artificial traffic factory

A click farm is an operation that generates fake engagement on websites or social media—likes, follows, views, or ad clicks—using low-paid workers or automated systems.

Businesses buy these services to inflate metrics artificially: The company's impressive follower count turned out to come from click farms.

The practice undermines digital advertising and platform integrity.
