clearing out
Emptying a space
Clearing out is the process of emptying a space by removing its contents—often thoroughly and with finality.
You clear out a closet, a garage, or a deceased relative's home.
The phrase also means leaving a place: We're clearing out at noon.
To clear someone out is to make them leave or to deplete their resources: The casino cleared him out.
