classical arrangements
Works scored traditionally
Classical arrangements are versions of musical pieces adapted for classical instruments, orchestra, or ensemble—or conversely, classical compositions rearranged for other formats.
The term covers both directions: pop songs arranged for string quartet a classical arrangement of a Beatles song and symphonic works adapted for piano or smaller groups.
The arrangements preserve the original melody while transforming instrumentation, texture, or style.
