circulatory systems
Body's transport highways
Circulatory systems are the networks of vessels and organs that move blood or other fluids through an organism's body.
In humans and other vertebrates, the circulatory system includes the heart, arteries, veins, and capillaries, delivering oxygen and nutrients while removing waste.
The term also applies to simpler systems in invertebrates and, metaphorically, to any network that distributes resources: the circulatory system of global trade.
