chromic
Of the metal
Chromic means relating to or containing chromium, particularly in its higher oxidation states.
The term appears almost exclusively in chemistry: chromic acid, chromic oxide.
Chromic compounds typically contain chromium in the +3 or +6 oxidation state, distinguishing them from chromous compounds where chromium has a lower valence.
