charisms
Divinely granted abilities
Charisms are special spiritual gifts or graces believed to be granted by the Holy Spirit for the benefit of the church community.
The term appears primarily in Christian theology, particularly Catholic and charismatic Protestant traditions: The congregation recognized her charisms of healing and prophecy.
These gifts—which may include teaching, prophecy, healing, speaking in tongues, or administration—are distinguished from natural talents by their divine origin and purpose of serving others rather than oneself.
