cello suite

Solo string works

A cello suite is a multi-movement composition written for solo cello, typically consisting of several dance movements in a unified key.

The term most often refers to Bach's six suites for unaccompanied cello, foundational works in the cello repertoire: She practiced the Prelude from the first cello suite.

Other composers have written cello suites, but Bach's remain the benchmark.
