ceiling stars
Glow-in-dark decorations
Ceiling stars are small glow-in-the-dark shapes—usually plastic stars and moons—stuck to bedroom ceilings as decoration.
They absorb light during the day and emit a faint greenish glow at night, creating a makeshift night sky.
Particularly popular in children's rooms: I had ceiling stars all through elementary school.
