Sleight-of-hand sharper
A card mechanic is someone skilled at manipulating playing cards through sleight of hand, particularly for cheating at gambling.
The term encompasses techniques like false shuffles, bottom dealing, and marking cards.
While some card mechanics perform as entertainers, the term typically implies deception: The casino banned him after discovering he was a card mechanic.
