camera rolls

Camera rolls originally referred to the physical rolls of film inside a camera, containing all photos taken in sequence before development.

In the digital era, the term persists as the default photo album on smartphones and devices where images automatically save as they're captured.

The camera roll typically displays photos chronologically, serving as an unedited archive of everything photographed on that device.
