calls out
Exposes bad behavior
Calls out has two distinct uses.
The first is simply to shout or announce: She called out the winning numbers.
The second, now dominant in social contexts, means to publicly criticize someone for wrongdoing or hypocrisy: He got called out for his racist comments.
This confrontational sense carries undertones of holding someone accountable, often on social media.
