cafetieres
French press pots
Cafetieres are coffee-brewing devices, also called French presses, consisting of a glass or metal cylinder with a plunger fitted with a fine mesh filter.
Ground coffee steeps in hot water, then the plunger is pressed down to separate the grounds from the brewed coffee.
She prefers her cafetiere to drip coffee machines.
The term is more common in British English; Americans typically say French press.
