bug hunter
Software error finder
A bug hunter searches for defects in software, either as a developer testing code or as an outside researcher probing for security vulnerabilities.
Many tech companies run bug bounty programs that pay hunters who discover and report flaws: She made six figures last year as a freelance bug hunter.
The term occasionally appears in entomology for someone who collects insects, though this usage is uncommon.
